    'Oarsman'

    "Oarsman" is a very good example of the popular Nelson 29. She is fitted with a single Ford Mermaid (turbo 4) 200hp diesel which provides both economical cruising as well as a very good top speed of 18knots.
    Her internal fit out is to a high standard, and externally she is in very good order, with just minor varnishing required.

  • Accommodation

    Twin bunks / double in forward cockpit, also double in pilot house to rear of steering wheel. Toilet with shower to port side with chart table / storage under to starboard. Galley sink to starboard with mentholated spirits stove, fridge under navigators seat. Pressurised hot and cold water (37 gallons) with storage for all galley equipment and utensils to starboard side of pilot house.

    Construction

    Hull white GRP. The hull is hand laid using woven roving and chopped strand mat in Polyester resin. The hull has also been epoxy coated from new as a further barrier system and protection to hull. Frames and stringers are foam, hull stiffening is foam and ply reinforcement is balsa and ply. Teak deck.

    240v shore power to boat via ring main circuit. Navigation Lights. Windscreen wipers.

    Engine

    Single Ford Mermaid (turbo 4) 200hp (fitted new in 1993) with a GRP built in drip tray. 1200 hours run (approx) Single bronze 21 x 18 four bladed propeller on a conventional shaft driven via a Hurth 1.5.1 vee drive gear box. Max speed 18knots, cruising speed of 12knots. Engine services May 2016.

    Nav Equipment

    Icom VHF radio (with 30w external hailer) Raymarine 80 plotter, radar, depth sounder. DSC radio.

  • Deck Equipment

    S/s pulpit on foredeck with substantial mooring cleats and bollard. Electric reversing windlass with control on deck and remote in wheelhouse. Full cockpit cover (needs replacing) in addition to a Tonneau cover. Collapsible mast on wheelhouse.

    Safety Equipment

    Fire Extinguishers. Fog Horn.

    Mechanical

    Adjustable trim tabs. 2 Integral fuel tanks with a capacity of 150 gallons with primary filter separator.
